Ancient Wisdom, Frankincense and Saffron petals

Frankincense oil has a rich, warm, and earthy scent with slight notes of spice and sweetness. It’s often described as grounding and calming and has been used in religious ceremonies and rituals, especially in ancient Egyptian practices and in Christianity, for thousands of years.

Frankincense is one of the most refined resins burned as incense and is mentioned in the Christian Bible as among the gifts brought by the three wise men. It is sourced from various species of the frankincense tree (Boswellia tree), with the best frankincense coming from Oman (recognizable by its bright, clear, yellow coloration). Other classic varieties come from the south of the Arabian Peninsula, Northeast Africa, and the Middle East. Poorer quality frankincense can be identified by its very dark colour and may also contain small pieces of bark. Incisions are made in the bark of the tree and the droplets of pitch that are exuded are collected once they have dried. Frankincense has been one of the key resins used for sacred purposes since ancient times and was exported across the world from an early date. It is most familiar to the Western world from Catholic church services. The antimicrobial and cleansing properties of frankincense were soon noted, along with the relief that it brings to inflammation and pain, with the medicinal effects of Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata/guggul) in particular having been proven in studies. The smoke of frankincense can be used to bathe the entire body in smudging rituals

I have intentionally created Frankincense healing oil from resin which has been hand delivered with unconditional love by my mother, who had visited Oman last year.
